The UNFCCC has launched its 2012 Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) International Photo Contest.
Anyone can enter – just check the criteria on the UNFCCC website. As you can see from our featured gallery – standards are high.
The CDM is one of three key market-based instruments introduced as part of the Kyoto Protocol to enable states to reduce their carbon emissions.
Together with International Emissions Trading (IET) and Joint Implementation (JI) the CDM forms the core of the UN’s flagship climate change policy.
The aim of the contest is to highlight the work the CDM is doing around the world – all submissions must be associated with a registered CDM project. Check the CDM interactive map to find a registered one near you.
For more details on the contest along with terms and conditions check the entry criteria.
The UNFCCC/CDM “Changing Lives” Photo Contest closes at midnight (CET), Thursday, 20 September 2012.
